Ticket Tips

  • You are guaranteed to be seated together if you order tickets for the same grandstand for the same days in one order
  • There are 4 categories of tickets available for this GP. You can choose from General Admission, Bleacher Grandstands, Premium Grandstands or a Flex Pass
  • Grandstands 18 and 19 are relatively new. For this reason, we cannot share any experiences with you yet. The stands seem very popular and are reasonably priced.

The Lower section of the Main Premium Grand Stand is ideal for those keen on pit activity and experiencing the race’s start and finish. Despite its name, the “Lower” section, particularly the “Trackside” area, offers prime viewing. Above this section are the most exclusive seats. While the atmosphere in the main grandstand is lively, it’s not the top choice for on-track excitement. It’s also among the highest-priced options on the circuit. Our preference lies with other grandstands, like the Premium ones at Turn 1 or Turn 15.

The Turn 1 Premium Grand Stand Top Side is a popular choice, albeit pricey, for its compelling features: positioned atop a hill, it provides a sweeping panoramic view of the circuit, encompassing the lengthy straight (start/finish) and the initial corner. The significant elevation change from the start/finish line to the first corner, coupled with the cars negotiating the blind corner at reduced speeds, makes for captivating viewing. Turn 4 offers spectators the thrill of witnessing Formula 1 cars swiftly change direction multiple times at high speeds, presenting a visually striking spectacle.

The Turn 9 grandstands offer an excellent vantage point of turns 7 to 11, along with a clear view of a significant portion of the main straight. Despite being one of the more affordable options at the Austin circuit, these grandstands come highly recommended! Positioned just before a sharp left turn at the conclusion of the backstraight (between turns 11-12 – sector 2),

The Grandstand Turn 12 (particularly its top rows) provides spectators with a prime view of the circuit’s most strategic overtaking spot. Here, you’ll witness Formula 1 cars decelerate as they navigate the right-angled corner at a relatively slow pace, offering ample opportunities for capturing stunning photographs. Additionally, there’s the chance to witness some thrilling passing maneuvers if luck is on your side!

The Turn 15 Premium Grandstand is consistently the most sought-after and quickest to sell out on the COTA circuit. Offering remarkable views from its two distinct sections, spectators can expect an excellent vantage point of the action unfolding at Turns 12-16, depending on their exact seating location.

The Turn 18 Grandstand stands as the newest addition to the Austin circuit, providing spectators with a superb perspective of the final corner combination comprising turns 18, 19, and 20. Despite its impressive views, this grandstand comes at one of the more affordable price points on the Austin circuit.

Turn 19 Grandstand, introduced alongside the Turn 18 grandstand, offers spectators an exceptional view of the last corner combination (turns 18, 19, and 20). The main distinction lies in the superior view of turn 20 from the Turn 19 Grandstand. Like its counterpart, this grandstand is priced affordably compared to others at the Austin circuit.

General Admission (Standing)

Turn 1 is the most beautiful place in terms of pitches. Because you are higher up, you have a better view of the Austin circuit. You also have a large TV screen so you don’t have to miss any of the racing action. The only downside to this place is that you have to be at the circuit early to have space here.
Turn 11 is less crowded than in Turn 1. Here you can see the drivers going through the hairpin, with a TV screen you won’t miss any of all the racing action on this spot. The downside of this place is that you are relatively far away from the food stalls.
Turn 17 from this spot you have a view of those cars going through turn 1. From this spot you have no view of a TV screen. A big advantage of this place is that the food stalls are not far away.
*Children under 2 years old can enter COTA for free. Unfortunately, child tickets are not available for this circuit. All children need their own (adult) ticket and must be accompanied by an adult.

For this Formula 1 trip, it is essential for international travellers to bring their passport. Additionally, all travellers are required to apply for an ESTA. Citizens of the United Kingdom, Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Taiwan are eligible to apply for an ESTA.

It is also important to note that travellers must be holding a return or onward ticket. If traveling on an electronic ticket, a copy of the itinerary must be carried for presentation to U.S. immigration at the port of entry. Please be aware that travellers with onward tickets terminating in Mexico, Canada, Bermuda, or the Caribbean Islands must be legal permanent residents of these areas.
